Well, I don’t have a pain quite yet. Give me a few hours though.
I had a routine operation today to have a mole removed. It wasn’t a big thing – just a routine procedure under local anasthetic with a small area of skin removed for further examination.
I realise I’m a total wimp though, when I read Phred’s recent blog entry.
You can all squirm now.
How strange! Mr T had exactly the same procedure done yesterday.
I didn’t like the funny lookin’ mole on the left side of his neck and made him get it checked.
He said it wasn’t too bad – except the stench of burning flesh as they cauterised the wound.
His wee molie is on its way to the path lab for closer inspection 😯
Yes! The same thought went through my mind. Didn’t smell much like burnt chicken though.. 🙂
Ah, the wee moles… I guess I should say that we love them, since they pay for quite much of daily expenses…
But honestly, they’re quite boring in the microscope. The ones that are not, are the naughty ones, unfortunately. However, small chunks from the inside of the guts are even more boring… and frequent…
Ah – I lost your train of thought for a minute until I remembered what line of work you are in again! Oh, I am hoping my cells are all actuaries and accountants, believe you me..
Love the cartoon! 🙂
Years ago I asked my GP about a suspicious looking mole on my arm and he said – ‘well, let’s just take it off, and also those other two as we’re at it’ (one on my back, one on my breast). And before I knew it they were all gone and I was stitched up and sent home. The tests came back negative, but I was more than somewhat annoyed when I found out later that I could have waited and had a dermotologist take them off, instead of ‘Dr Frankenstein’ who wasn’t exactly a dab hand with a needle…
Ouch! Not quite the treatment you would want. GP’s wouldn’t be let do it here.
It’s a bit sore now but not too bad.
(oh, and if you click on the picture you will find a few other cartoons in a similar vein. Some of them are real gems!)
Hope it’s healing well and not too sore today.
I’ve had a mole and a little flesh bump called a “skin tag” which had been irritated by a bra strap removed by my GP. He removed them by applying a little liquid nitrogen- they just fell off. No stench, no pain other than a slightly raw feeling no more extreme than perhaps a skinned knee. No noticeable scarring, either.
I don’t think I would’ve used a soldering iron!
