I’m giving the final presentation of my thesis to my academic supervisor and second reader today, and then that’s it. It’s all over. I finished my thesis about 2 months ago, so it’s been something of a challenge re-reading it again in preparation for today.
Even though it was a lot of hard work, I enjoyed writing my thesis. I was fortunate in that the subject I chose was very interesting to me. I don’t think too many people have written about my chosen subject before – it’s certainly a first for the academic body I am presenting to. This makes it even more special to me.
Hopefully it will be an interesting day and not too challenging! I’m really looking forward to my graduation day in November.
How exciting – good for you!
Will you be doing anything special to celebrate or are you saving that for your graduation?
Hope it all goes swimmingly well.
Good luck, W!
…and your way of defence seems a little more relaxed than ours.
Why not celebrate both today and when you graduate?
Thanks! I’m not sure if I will get a chance tonight to celebrate but I am very much looking forward to my graduation.
I did well! That’s the end of my Masters degree now, and I can expect to graduate with honours in November. I have to make a few small formatting changes to the thesis itself, and then get it bound.
Yippee!
Wow – with honours! That calls for at least a bottle or two of bubbly.
Well done and I hope you are feeling very proud of yourself.
Congratulations. Make sure you remember to take a moment and think about how good it feels to have accomplished something like this. Then, onward and upward!
Congratulations
Congrats! Aren’t vivas fun (when they don’t end badly)? 😉 How long was it? Did they grill you?
It wasn’t too bad, given that it was a Masters degree and not a PhD. They asked a few tough questions but I was well able to handle them. I think the whole thing lasted just over an hour. They were quite taken by the subject I chose. It was very different to most theses. I chose a subject that most people don’t normally associate with this field of study. It was a somewhat risky thing to do, I guess, but hugely worthwhile.
My next task is to do something about the table in my sitting room that is literally covered in books and papers. A bookcase is in order, I think.
That’s good, mine wasn’t too bad either. What was your subject, if I may ask?
My degree is in Supply Chain Management – I specialised in digital products: software downloads. Most of the time Supply Chain stuff is about physical goods, manufacturing, logistics, that kind of thing.
