It snowed heavily yesterday morning in Chicago – and it’s still just early October. The weather forecasters are calling the phenomenon a “polar vortex”: sounds like something out of that film “The Day after Tomorrow”..

Although it was a record snowfall for this time of year… and one degree above a record low.
While Wednesday and yesterday were a bit chillier than I was prepared for just yet, it really is quite nice today.
At least we didn’t get two feet, like parts of New York! Small mercies…
Within a couple of months, I’m sure I will be begging you all to remind me why I live here.
